Trail Time Thursday

Park District trails provide great opportunities to exercise, enjoy fresh air and appreciate protected natural environments while maintaining social distancing. Check out the trails we have discovered across the state of Illinois in our #TrailTimeThursday post series.

 

Urbana Park District’s Busey Woods

Plug into #UrbanaParkDistrict’s Busey Woods, which is a 59-acre bottomland Oak-Hickory forest. This natural area is known for its flower display and the variety of birds it showcases.

 

Wheaton Park District’s Northside Park

Northside Park offers 1.3 miles of walking paths, various open play areas, and much more!

 

Crystal Lake Park District’s Veteran Acres Park

Veteran Acres is home to a very green, tree-filled nature park, sled hill, wooded walking and biking paths, along with a pond, nature center and baseball diamond. And it's a short walk from downtown Crystal Lake!

 

Urbana Park District’s

Weaver Park

Located south of the intersection of Main Street and Smith Road in Urbana, the 60 acres of Weaver Park contains 35 acres planted with prairie and native grasses, a five-acre woodland/savanna restoration, and the Kickapoo Rail Trail!

 

Rockford Park District’s

Anna Page Trail Park

#RockfordParkDistrict's Anna Page Park Trail offers one mile of trails for mountain biking and an additional 1,170 feet of equestrian trails. The trail concept complements existing equestrian trail activities, and encompasses five miles of connecting trails winding through Anna Page Park and Lockwood Park.

 

River Trail Park District’s

Sycamore Trail Park

Sycamore Trails Park in Mount Prospect, Illinois. Part of River Trails Park District, this 6.4-acre park features walking & cycling paths, tennis courts and soccer fields where you can practice social distancing while plugging into activity and exercise!
